Acceptable Use Policy
Effective May 16, 2026 · GM Sunshine LLC (d/b/a SEOlvl)
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses SEOlvl (operated by GM Sunshine LLC). It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. We may update it from time to time. Violations may result in content removal, suspension or termination without refund, and reporting to authorities where appropriate.
1. You must not
- Use the Service unlawfully, or to infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
- Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorized to access, or probe, scan or breach security or authentication measures.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-export the Service, its pages, scores or datasets, or circumvent rate limits, paywalls or access controls.
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute the Service or its data, or use it to build or train a competing product or model.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including denial-of-service, excessive automated requests, or injecting malicious code.
- Submit domains or content for the purpose of harassment, defamation, deception, or to manipulate metrics or rankings fraudulently.
- Misrepresent affiliation with SEOlvl or use the brand, scores or badges in a misleading way.
2. Crawling and third-party sites
SEOlvl fetches limited public information from websites and domains (e.g. homepage HTML, robots/sitemap, HTTP headers, SSL and DNS metadata) to produce audits and scores. We aim to crawl respectfully, at low volume, and to identify our requests. You must not use the Service to direct crawling or load against any site you are not authorized to test, or in any way that would burden a third-party site.
3. API, webhooks and automation
Automated access (API tokens, deploy hooks, webhooks) must stay within documented rate limits and your plan's entitlements. Tokens and deploy-hook URLs are secrets — keep them confidential; activity performed with them is attributed to your account.
4. Public profiles & domain owner removal
SEOlvl creates public profile, leaderboard and directory pages for domains using publicly available, domain-level (non-personal) data. If you are the owner or authorized representative of a domain and wish to control or remove its public profile:
- If you register the domain in SEOlvl, you can use the built-in privacy controls to set the profile private or restrict individual fields.
- Otherwise, email [email protected] from an address at the domain (or otherwise demonstrating control) with the request. We will action verified requests within a reasonable period.
5. Reporting abuse
To report a violation of this AUP, content that infringes your rights, or a security issue, contact [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to locate and assess the issue. We investigate reports and take proportionate action.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, throttle, suspend or terminate access, with or without notice depending on severity, and cooperate with law enforcement. We are not obligated to monitor use but may do so to protect the Service and its users.
