Monitoring a portfolio of sites without drowning in tabs
Research tools (Ahrefs, Semrush) are built for investigation — you open them when you have a question. Portfolio operators have a different problem: 25 to 500 domains and no time to investigate any of them until something breaks.
The shift: pull → push
A monitoring layer inverts the model. Instead of remembering to check each site, you get told when something moves:
- Daily Authority Score per domain, with 7d / 30d deltas.
- Referring-domain gained/lost events.
- One weekly digest across the entire portfolio.
- A public profile + embeddable badge per domain — proof that compounds.
A workable weekly rhythm
- Monday: skim the weekly digest. Three domains moved; note them.
- Mid-week: open only those three. The deltas tell you where to look.
- Never: open a research tool "just to check." You will be told.
The goal is not more data. It is fewer tabs and a signal that finds you.
